James Roy Doss, age 73, of Remlap, AL, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. James retired from the Navy after 24 years of service. During his time with the Navy, he was stationed around the world. James was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Elzora Doss; and sister, Lenora Tyler. He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Alveta) Doss of Pinson and John (Kathy) Doss of Cullman; sisters, Evelyn (Jerry) White of Warrior and Margaret (Ron) Howard of Pinson; brother-in-law, Robert Tyler of Trafford; uncle, Ray (Nell) Doss of Pinson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation for James will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, January 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held the following day at Bethel United Methodist Church, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.
