James Elwyn Thomas, age 79, of Warrior, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020.  James graduated from Warrior High School at 17 years old, and left the next day for the United States Marine Corp., serving from 1959- 1962. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 91 for 54 years. James grew up in the Methodist Church and later joined Waterstone Church on October 5, 2014. He was baptized at Waterstone on October 26, 2014. James was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Thomas; father, August Kendral Thomas; son, Mark Thomas; sister, Angeleen Kyles; brother, William K. Thomas; brother-in-law, Robert Burch; sisters-in-law, Sara Burch, Madeline Thomas and Shirley Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail Thomas; son, Michael (Julie) Thomas; daughter, Dana Ward; brother, Robert Thomas of Savannah, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, James (Mandy) Ward, Chelsie Love, Abbie (Mason) Shirley, Jacob Ward, Dusty Love, Peyton Thomas, Caleb Thomas, Samantha (Torrey) Thomas; three great-grands, Brently Shirley, Madelyn Shirley, and Trey Green; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He loved them all, and adored them grandbabies and great-grands.

Visitation for Mr. Thomas will be Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Waterstone Church in Warrior from 12:00pm-2:00pm with the service to start at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Warrior Cemetery.
