James Leroy Garner, age 91, of Kimberly, AL passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. James was a loving and caring husband to his beloved wife of 57 years, Mrs. Mae Belle Garner, until her death in 2011. He was a hardworking man, whose top priorities were his love for the Lord, and spending time with and taking care of his family. Because these things were always so important to James, he was sure to instill in his children the same love for Jesus, family, and family values. James was a sweet, loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend alike. He never met a stranger; and as a matter of fact, it was pretty hard to go anywhere with him without running into someone he knew, or who knew him. He will be missed so much, by so many. Dad, PawPaw, brother, friend.. we all love you so much!

James was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Christopher Garner and Christine Lucille Gann Garner; loving wife, Mae Belle Dozier Garner; and siblings, Ila Mae Leggett, Ruby Johnson, Douglas "Elbert" Garner, Johnny Garner, and Bobby Garner.

He is survived by his children, Willodean Dennis and James Noel Garner; grandsons, Kennith Dennis, Noel Daniel Garner, Kevin LaDale Davis, Chaz Leroy Garner, Brian Glenn, and Anthony Glenn; great-grandchildren, Kendyl Dennis Standridge, Rylan Shianne Davis, Ava Claire Garner, Aidan Garner, Sam Garner, and Dexter Garner; and siblings, Rayburn and Patsy Garner.

A visitation for Mr. Garner will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, November 20, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Findley to offificate. Interment to follow at Morris Cemetery.
