Longtime Warrior Council Member James Frederick "Coach" Jett, 79, passed away at his home on Monday night April 6, 2020, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddy Monroe Jett and Irene Burns Jett. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Nadine Roberts Jett, children Steve Jett, Lynn Jett, Lisa Jett, granddaughter Jessica Jett (Tim Key), great granddaughter Ruby Jett, brother Monroe Jett, sister Jewell Mills, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Coach Jett was a well loved Teacher, Principal, Coach, and City Council Member. He served  52 years on the City Of Warrior Council, believed to have been the longest anyone in the state of Alabama has ever served.

Family will hold a private graveside service. Mayor Johnny Ragland said the city will plan a formal memorial for Mr. Jett after the coronavirus danger has passed.
