Obituary

James A. Malone, 76 passed away Friday Sept 20th at home in Kimberly, AL following a long illness.

He was born in Chardon Ohio, the son of James W. and Helen S. Malone.

He joined the Air Force in 1962 serving in Naples, Italy where he received multiple service awards.

He married Sharron L. Garland in Tarrant City in 1969.

After leaving the service he worked for Birmingham Southern Railroad in Fairfield, Southern Ductile Casting in Bessemer before retiring from Vulcan Engineering in Helena.

In retirement he enjoyed spending time gardening, dune buggying with friends and spending time with his grandchildren and three dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Sharron L. Malone, his four children, Jon (Mary Beth), Cheryl (Robyn) and Nathan (Gina), and adopted daughter Kristine (Andy), six grandchildren, Caroline, Austin, Madison, Anthony (AJ), Braden and Rider, and two great grandchildren, Meredith and Karlie, numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held October 5th, at 2pm at Messmer Goodwin Funeral in Warrior, Al.


In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of James may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Honor of his grandson Anthony Malone.
