James D. McCord, age 59, of Kimberly, Alabama, passed from this life August 22, 2021. He was a loving, kind, compassionate, and generous man, always willing to give you the shirt off his back. He was funny and always telling jokes. James enjoyed hiking and working out. One of his proudest accomplishments was serving his country in the U. S. Army Airborne Special Forces. The one thing that meant the most to him was his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was loved by so many and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dwight McCord and Barbara Hudson ; sisters, Danita Holland, Nina Holland. He is survived by his children; Amanda (Phillip) Murphy, Erin McCord (Chris Goodwin), James Ryan McCord, Zachard McCord; grandchildren, Asher and Maci Murphy, Tori Bibby, Taylor, Jaxson  and James Goodwin; sister, Carol Shaffer; brother-in-law, Tony Bouchard; step-mother, Betty McCord; step-sister, Becky Shadrix; step-brothers, Tim and Tommy Bolden; bonus brother, Tim McQuerry; bonus children, Carrie Hartzog and Jalen Wells. A memorial service will be held in James McCord's honor at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, Sunday, September 5, at 2:00 p.m.
