James M. Palmer, age 79, Warrior, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Ada West Palmer, and his daughter, Tammy K. Palmer. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Odell Palmer; daughters Kelly Palmer Barnes, Sheila (Derick) Posey; son, Jamie (Elizabeth) Palmer; grandchildren, Haley Barnes, Andy Posey, Mitch Posey, Madison Palmer, Zachary Palmer; siblings, Jackie Palmer, Gerri Grund, Becky Palmer. He was a loving husband, happily married to Bonnie, a loving dad, granddad, and friend. He was a member of Elvester Baptist Church where he was a Bible teacher, Sunday school teacher, and played guitar at the church for many decades. He was retired from Rives Construction where he was a superintendent. He loved spending time with his family, with his church, playing guitar, farming, and working with cattle. James was a man of great faith in God; he is now home. A graveside service will be held at Elvester Baptist Cemetery, 1255 Elvester Road, Warrior, Alabama on Tuesday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Steven Sawyer officiating. The family wishes to extend their thanks to SouthernCare Hospice, Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, Elvester Baptist Church, and to many friends.
