Jeffery Dewane Burns, age 61, of Hayden, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was a selfless husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend. Every day he put others before himself, whether he was working to give strangers warmer, safer and drier homes, or putting on a brave face for the people he loved. He enjoyed anything surrounding cars and music, bu the most important thing to him was spending time with his family.

Pallbearers: Darryl Ray, Thomas Knox, Ricky Swann, Shane Mann, Jason Rickels, Jeff Man, Bradley Stanley and Anthony Dean. Honorary Pallbearers: Bubba Glover and Jeff Allen.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Janie Inez Burns; and father-in-law, Johnny Cupps. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry C. Burns; children, Cole Burns and Courtney Burns; brothers, Ronald Burns (Donna) and Gerald Burns (Teresa); mother-in-law, Anita Cupps, sister-in-law, Jenny Cupps; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special members.

A visitation for Jeffery will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held the following day, also at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Tim Blackmon and Dan Nickels to officiate. Interment to follow at Cupps Family Cemetery.
