With tender hearts and thankful spirits, our family announces the passing of Jerry D. Bennett, age 86, into the arms of his Savior on Monday, October 12, 2026.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Jerry faced a long battle with Parkinson’s with fierce resolve, faithfully supported by his devoted wife of 42 years, Barbara. Following his surrender to Christ, Jerry lived each day with purpose. Whether known as "The Biscuit Man" at church or spotted at home in a Harley shirt cheering on Bama or the Cowboys, Jerry always had a smile and a pocketknife or ball cap ready to give to those who visited. We rejoice knowing his body is fully healed and his race is won.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Turner.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Gerald Bennett, Rhonda Bennett, Kenny Turner, and Joseph Turner (Wendy); grandchildren, Melanie Kessler, Jon David Turner, Blake Turner, and Rachael Doggett; and a host of cherished great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church in Warrior, Alabama on Friday, October 16, 2026. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church.
