Mr. Jimmy Salyers, age 72, passed from this life on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at his home in Warrior, Alabama. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the Warrior Community. He loved fishing, hunting, and teaching his grandsons how to fish and hunt. He just loved spending time outdoors. Jimmy was a well-known brick mason, and worked for B.L. Harbert Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. Salyers and Minnie Campbell Salyers; siblings, Julius "Dude" Salyers and Barbara Wilson; daughter, Vanda LaVoy; and granddaughter, Danica Nell. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nell Salyers; children, Elizabeth Henderson and Matthew Wayne Salyers (Stephanie); grandchildren, Skyler, Stetsan, Colby, Kolton and Kori; sisters, Gail Pate and Judy Beasley (Ricky); as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Liberty Minter Cemetery in Kimberly, Alabama.
