Joe Brakefield, age 66, was called to eternal rest September 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruby Brakefield; granddaughter, Kristian Wheeler; brothers, Paul and Junior Brakefield. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Brakefield; daugter, Miranda Brakefield; granddaugther, Tammy Wheeler; great-granddaughter, Keely Robbins; brothers, Carrie Eugene (Lisa) Brakefield, Jerry Brakefield. Joe was an owner/operator of his own truck, and he loved driving eighteen-wheelers. He enjoyed watching westerns, and spending time with his precious great-granddaughter, Keely. He will be remembered by his family for his kindness, his strong-will and stubborn nature, and his love for playfully aggravating others to get a reaction from them. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 22, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., funeral service following immediately in the chapel. Interment will be held at Elvester Cemetery.
