Joey Speakman, age 52, of Hanceville, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Joey loved nature, and it was hard to keep track of the countless hobbies he would go through. If there was something he could spend his time on outdoors, he would do it. He loved to fish, hunt, build, explore, and to just appreciate the world around him. He would always try to spread that appreciation. He never took a second for granted. Out of all his adventures and hobbies he would go through, you knew he would never hesitate or waste a second on any of them if it was in the way of his family, because that is what he always cared about the most. Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Irene Speakman, and Clyde and Edna Culwell; and brother, Terry Speakman. He is survived by his wife, Joy Speakman; children, Casey Speakman, Tori Veitch (Isaac), Trey Speakman, and Lori Speakman; granddaughter, Avery Veitch; father, Bobby Speakman (Louette); mother, Nina Madsen; brother, Michael Speakman; brothers-in-law, Bo Wilson (Christie), Johnny Wilson, Jimmy Wilson (Jennifer); step-brother, Timmy Johns, step-sisters, Anita Morton and Donna Johns; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation for Joey will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, October 3, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Bro. Johnny Allred to officiate. Interment to follow at Union Grove Cemetery.
