Johanna Rita Esteve Chryssoverges of Warrior, AL, was lifted up into God's Kingdom of Heaven on Feb. 29, 2020, from complications due to an extended illness. Johanna celebrated her 85 ^th birthday on November 25, 1934. She was born in Houma, LA, and raised in Bourg, LA. Johanna graduated from South Terrebonne High School where she played basketball and was awarded for her achievements. In 1957, she married John W. Chryssoverges (deceased) and lived in Metairie, LA, where they raised their family. As a devout Catholic, she endeavored to be Christlike in every facet of her life, sharing the Word of God with anyone she could. She moved to Warrior, AL in 1989 where she retired and ministered to St. Henry's Catholic Church. Survivors include her children Godfrey Chryssoverges of Warrior, AL and his wife Diane, Joseph Chryssoverges of Harahan, LA and his wife Theresa, and Jeanine McMahan of Port Charlotte, FL and her husband Robert; sisters Maxine Seavers and husband Marc of Alameda, CA, Opal Blanchard and husband Newton of Bourg, LA, and brother Tillman Esteve (deceased) of Houma, LA; very close sister-in-law Rosemary Chryssoverges of Metairie, LA; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends that she greatly loved. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Warrior, AL. Visitation is at 10:00 am,  Mass at 11:00 am, with internment services following.
