John Robert Forsyth, age 76, of Warrior, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. John, known as "Pop" to many, loved going to the beach, fishing, being outside, watching Alabama football, cutting grass (best weedeater around), and dancing... but more than anything, he loved his family. John was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Forsyth; wife, Marion Ward Forsyth; and siblings, Michael Forsyth, Tommy Forsyth, Mary Carol Martin, Jimmy Forsyth, Lois Bradley, Rita Jean McDonald, and Jerry Forsyth. He is survived by his sons, David Michael Forsyth (Christie), and Martin Ward Forsyth (Angela); grandchildren, Jenny (Adam) Burttram, John Michael Forsyth, Katelyn Marie Cowie, Andrea Marie Forsyth, Cooper Davis Forsyth and Bry (Ryan) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Adaleigh Reece Burttram, Preston Mitchell, and Mary McKenzie Daigneault; sister, Kathy Theros (Billy); as well as a host of VERY special nieces and nephews. A visitation for Pop will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
