John Edward Haney, Sr., age 78, of Hayden, AL passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. John was preceded in death by his parents, James Houston Haney, Sr. and Lizzie Mae Elliott Haney; and siblings, James Houston Haney, Jr., Buck Goodwin, Arthur Mae Suggs, Bobbie Davis, Penny Jenkins, Lou Ella Poole and Willma Lee Clark. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Cornelia M. Haney; daughters, Connie Bullard (Jeff) and Savanna Haney; sons, John Haney Jr. (Reneigh), Ronnie Haney (Elaine), Bill Haney (Jennifer), and Johnathon Haney; grandchildren, John Haney III, Jacob Haney (Lex), Amanda Conn (Patrick), Allison D. Bullard, Britney Smith, Jennifer Haney, Eeron Haney, Travis Haney, Jewelianna Haney, Destiny Conn and Leelyn Conn. A visitation for John will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, February 10, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
