Jon Frank Shiflett was born on October 21, 1960, and gained his heavenly wings on Monday, December 16, 2019. He fought a long, hard battle and is now completely healed. Jon proudly served his country for 31 years in the Army National Guard, serving two years in Afghanistan and one year in Iraq. He worked for Alagasco for 37 years. Jon loved fishing, being on the lake, working outside on his backhoe, and cooking. He could out-shop everyone any day of the week and if he wasn't talking, he was singing. Jon welcomed, treated and loved everyone. He was always willing to help anyone in need and showed great love to all who knew him. He was a good man, had one of the biggest hearts and always saw the good in everyone. We all wish that we could have more time with Jon. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Frank Shiflett and mother, Carolyn Powell. Jon is survived by his wife, Annette; two sons, Jonathan Frank (Brandi) and Jon Austin (Heather); stepdaughters, Heather (Ryan) and Amber (Will); two granddaughters, Annakate and Emma; sister, Pam (Steve) Carr; brother, Matt (Marjorie) Shiflett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones. A visitation for Mr. Shiflett will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18, from 6:00pm- 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, at 12:00pm. Burial to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
