Joseph Harold

Feb 9, 1931 — May 4, 2024
Hayden
Joseph Harold Jones, age 93, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Millie Jones; wife, Bertha Sims Jones; and son, Michael Jones. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Camp (Ed Stacey) and Vicki Heron (Bruce Heron); daughter-in-law, Frances Jones; grandchildren: Brandi Taylor, April (Justin) Daugherty, Heather (Charlie) Kemp, Andrew (Bailey) Gillreath-Brown, Holly (Jordan) Ware, and Mandi (Sloan Williams) Jones; and great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Taylor, Landon Daugherty, Taylor Kemp, Cody Taylor, Mallory Kemp, Autumn Daugherty, Jackson Taylor, Levi Ware, Caroline Kemp, Liam Ware, Wilder Gillreath-Brown, Riley Williams, and Sylvie Gillreath-Brown.
Harold would do anything for you if you needed help. Harold worked for Sloss Industries until he retired in 1994, then took on the job of Secretary/Treasurer for the Cullman Senior Bowling League for 20 years. He loved bowling, but also loved working, instilling a sense of good work ethic in his children. At times he worked two jobs, all the while keeping a large garden each year. Being raised on a farm, he couldn't let go of planting crops or raising cattle, he loved it! He also loved fishing and skiing at the lake and fishing at the beach, and taught us to do both. One of his proudest moments was showing off the 30 lb. red snapper he caught while deep sea fishing. Harold and Bertha went to as many ballgames, bowling, dance recitals, and track meets as they could as the grands grew up. One of Harold's favorite past times was reading his Bible on the front porch.
