Joseph  Lee Peters, Sr. (Joey), age 68, of Warrior, Alabama, affectionately known as JJ, entered into eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 13, 2020. Joey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He was a member of North Highland Baptist Church and served as deacon and church treasurer for more than 40 years. He had a servant's heart and was a true example of Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his father, J.S. Peters; mother, Margaret Roper Peters; and brother, Phil Peters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Sherry Peters; children, Amy (Lonnie) Warren, Lee (Michelle) Peters, and Anthony (Katie) Peters; grandchildren, Leslie (Scott) Palmer, Jennifer (Joe) Lovitte, Andrew Warren, Landon (Paige) Smith, Trey Peters, Braden Peters, Brock Peters, and Maggie Peters; great-grandchildren, Vicotreea Gorham, John Wesley Gorham, Tyler Donald, Raye Donald, Ethan Lovitte and Zoey Lovitte; a host of nieces and nephews; and all of "JJ's babies" and church family at NHBC.

Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 6:00 -8:00 PM
at North Highland Baptist Church
523 Main St N, Warrior, Alabama.
Funeral service will be
Friday, December 18, 2020
also at North Highland Baptist Church
at 2:00 PM. Interment at Cane Creek Cemetery.
Out of respect for the family and the church you will be asked to wear a mask.
