Josephine "Jo" Jacobs, age 83, of Hayden, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Billy Joe "Travis" Jacobs; parents, Freeman Eugene & Norma Lucille Tolbert; and stepfather, Nelson Bradford. She is survived by her children, Regina Morgan (Bruce), Timothy Jacobs (Stephanie), and Kevin Jacobs; grandchildren, William Brunson, Josh Jacobs, Ariel Jacobs, Isabella Jacobs, Dolly Brunson, Drew Morgan (Katrina), and Matthew Morgan (Laura); great-grandchildren, George and Fletcher Morgan; brother, Eugene Tolbert (Hilda); a host of nieces and nephews, as well as special family members Kim, Scott, Jake and Julia Hatfield.

Josephine retired after working in the medical records department of Carraway Medical Center. Jo was a devout Christian and lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she loved teaching Sunday school class. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and He blessed her with a loving family that she enjoyed spending time with during family gatherings and any time they could get together. She also enjoyed having breakfast on the back porch with her beloved husband, Travis, and visiting with her good friends from high school who always made her feel so special. Josephine loved reading her Bible, taking trips to the beach, gardening, and enjoying a Wendy's Frosty, tomato sandwich, or fried bologna. She is greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

You all are so greatly appreiciate for everything you have done.

A visitation for Josephine will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Gethsemane Baptist Cemetery.
