Obituary

Judy Marie (Page) McCombs, age 80, of Hayden, Alabama passed away on January 1, 2025, at Woodland Village in Cullman, Alabama. Judy was born in Morris, Alabama, on February 1, 1944, to Curtis and Prudie Franklin Page.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jack McCombs; her parents, Curtis and Prudie; and her siblings, Burnice Page, Margaret Rock, Ray Page, Linda McCombs, and Patricia (Reno) Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, June Phillips (Mike) and Jan Holtzclaw (Chris); her grandchildren, Paige Cox (Jordan), Emily Abad-McCombs (Cristopher), Nick Martin (Meredith), Bethany Skinner (Brandon), Brittany McCombs, and Madison Manning; her great-grandson, Thomas Jack Abad-McCombs; her siblings, Dan Page (Ann) and Dorothy Womack (Jack); as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Judy was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy in life. Judy grew up in Morris and graduated from Morris-Majestic High School. She married Jack in 1962. After marrying, Jack and Judy lived in Birmingham for a while before building a home and settling their roots in Hayden, Alabama. They enjoyed a wonderful life together. Judy had a great sense of humor and was such a kind soul. She was a lover of chocolate milkshakes, a wonderful cook and was heavily involved in the raising of her grandchildren. Her family considers her the best Mom and Granny in the world! She served the community side- by-side with Jack in Christian ministry and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Judy was a devoted Christian and primarily attended Calvary Baptist Church and Mountain Brook Baptist Church, where she was most recently a member. To those she left behind, may we find peace in the fact that she is now reunited with Jack "Pa" in Heaven.

A visitation will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home in Warrior, Alabama on Saturday, January 4, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Once the funeral service at Messmer Goodwin has concluded, all attendees will be asked to exit the funeral home promptly and begin making their way to the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hayden, Alabama, so that we can all reconvene for a brief committal service prior to interment. Please note, we will not be traveling in a formal procession, so you may leave the funeral home parking lot ahead of the hearse, as soon as you are dismissed to make your way to the cemetery.
