Karen Jane Purser, age 59, of Warrior, AL passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Karen was born on February 5, 1963. She grew up in a family fueled by love. In her younger years she was known to be headstrong and very independent, and that never changed. Karen's professional career revolved around serving the public. She took pride in the ability to care and provide for children. Karen was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, friend and mentor. She enjoyed spending time with family, working in the yard, and she loved planting flowers. Her most loved characteristic was that she loved so fiercely. If she was on your side, she would fight the world for you. When she loved, she loved hard. Karen will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She truly would be happy to be with her sons, Jason and Braxton, in their heavenly home. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Granville Myrick and Sue Smith; and sons, Jason and Braxton Purser. She is survived by her children, Justin Purser and Candace Glass; grandchildren, Alexis Purser, Austin Glass and Kristi Glass; and siblings, Mary Sloan, Dennis Myrick (Ginger) and Keith Myrick. A visitation for Karen will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Jones Cemetery in Gardendale.
