Kathy Lynn Connell, age 43, of Empire, Alabama, entered eternal rest Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruby Connell; brother, Eddie Connell; nephew, Justin Connell. She is survived by her parents, James E. Connell, Sr. and Peggy Connell; children, Dylan (Alissa) Callahan and Victoria (Michael Gray) Duncan; grandparents, Mary Cox, Edward Johnson; brother, Tony (Kelly) Connell; fiance', Michael Hardin. Kathy was a great daughter, beloved mother, and best friend. She was known as a compassionate and remarkable caregiver. She was funny, stubborn, vivacious, and spontaneous, but also brave, strong, and independent. Kathy was smart and very business-minded, excelling in many facets of life. She enjoyed being around children, watching Tik-Tok videos, playing piano, and fishing. Her fur baby, Layla, brought her great joy, and she loved being a fantastic dog mom to her. A visitation for Kathy will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, December 26, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment  will be Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Gardendale.
