Kathy  Matthews was born August 21,  1958 and went to Heaven on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge and Ruby Melvin; brother, Donnie Melvin; husband, Randy Matthews. She is survived by her sons, Brandy Matthews (Brittany Bates) and Brandon  Matthews (Jen);  sisters, Diane Miller, (Harlan), and Dinah  Holmes (Mike), and sister-in-law, Patricia Melvin. Kathy has two grandchildren that she loved more than anything, Brooklyn and Asher Matthews.

Kathy loved and was loved by many.She lived life full of joy through any circumstance. She was a devoted wife, unbelievable mother, proud grandmother, faithful friend, hard worker, and a caretaker to her core. Even when things were personally hard, she was taking care of others. She lived her life on purpose and will leave a legacy for the rest of us to live out. She will be missed.

A visitation for Kathy will be held at Masseyline Church of God on Saturday, May 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Masseyline Cemetery. Pastors Brandon Matthews and Brandon Doss will officiate the services. Pall bearers will be Harlan Miller, Brandon Doss, Mike Holmes, Jefferey Hunter, Matt Lauderdale, Scott McClendon.
