On September 17, 2024, our beloved Richard Keith Hopper went to his heavenly home with Jesus. Keith, also known as "K" and "Hop", was born on October 31, 1963, to his parents Hilburn and Gail Hopper. Keith grew up in Warrior and Kimberly, Alabama, with his brothers Micah and Delone Hopper. He graduated from Warrior High School in 1982. He worked very hard and was employed by AAA Cooper Transportation for over thirty years. Keith and his wife, Deborah, were married for six years and attended Hanceville First Baptist Church and North Highland Baptist Church. Keith was a caring and loving father to his only child, Brandy. Keith was an avid sports fan and loved to spend his time watching the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Football. He was an outstanding athlete as well. He led his Warrior Indians baseball team to the state finals in 1982. From 1983 to 1984, he continued his baseball career at Jefferson State Junior College. In 1986 and 1987, he played baseball for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as a talented infielder. He held the MVP title for the 1986 UAB Baseball team. Later, he joined his lifelong friends playing on various men's softball teams and played an instrumental part in winning many trophies. Accolades and trophies were only a small part of Keith's life. He loved gospel music and attended many gospel concerts. You could always catch him singing, especially an Elvis song! He traveled and enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved. Fishing was also a favorite pastime for Keith, he loved being outside. Hop had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by the ones who loved him.

Keith is preceded in death by his father, Hilburn Hopper; his grandparents, Linda and Curtis Rickels, and W. Herman and M. Magdalene Hopper; his brother, Steven Hopper. He is survived by his mother, Gail Hopper; his wife, Deborah Young Hopper; his daughter, Brandy Hopper; his stepchildren, Tiffanie (Jason) Easter and Mikell (Kasi) Mann; his brothers, Micah (Rhonda) Hopper and Delone Hopper; his step-grandchildren, Julia, Jonah, and Miles; his aunt, Rita (Jim) Slane; his nephews and niece, David, Ryne, and Noah Hopper, and Cara Dickerson; his father- and mother-in-law, Edward and Martha McCurry; his brother- and sister-in-law, Mark and April McCurry; and his best buddy, Joe (Michele) Chandler.
