LeiLani Hastings Shourd, age 82, was born August 3, 1943, in Chattanooga TN. She left this world to meet her Savior Jesus Christ on December 9, 2025. LeiLani was the sibling to two brothers and two sisters. She married the love of her life, John Shourd, in 1961, and they raised three girls together. The family moved to Huntsville, AL and then Birmingham, AL (Pinson), where she resided at the time of her death.

Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Jerome Shourd; her parents, Helen Owensby Hastings and John David Hastings, Sr.; sisters, Margaret Ann Daughtery and Jennifer Moss; and her brother, John David Hastings, Jr.

Survived by brother, William Mark Hastings; her daughters, Anna (Ken) Chamblee, Electa Taylor, and Melinda (Phillip) Green; grandchildren, Nicole (Jamie) Brown, Jon-Michael (Kristen) Sullivan, Justin (Chelsea) Wellman, Kyle (Brittany) Taylor, and Amanda (Austin) Jewell; great-grandchildren Lucas Brown, Nicolas Brown, Crewe Wellman, Leileana Taylor, Justice Wellman, Asher Wellman, Brooklyn Jewell, Kaidence Taylor, Madison Jewell, Sebastian Sullivan, Juniper Sullivan, Gwendolyn Wellman and Harley Brown; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will be welcoming friends and family for visitation at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home in Warrior, AL on Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM with burial at Lakewood Memory Gardens South in East Ridge, TN at 2 PM EST.
