Mrs. Lois Staton Sloan, 97, of Hayden, Alabama, passed to her eternal rest September 20, 2021. She was a charter member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Hayden, Alabama. She was a loving and kind, wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Sloan will be sorely missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwyn Sloan; parents, Benjamin and Ida Staton; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Larry Sloan; grandsons, Cliff (Christina) Sloan, Christopher (Kalea) Sloan; great-grandchildren, Kinglsey, Cash, and Mary Kate Sloan. Visitation will be held in the Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home chapel Thursday, September 23, from 1:00-2:00 p.m.  Funeral service for Mrs. Sloan will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hayden, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Alabama Baptist Children's Home.
