Mr. Lowell Shipp, age 83, of Empire, Alabama was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Mr. Shipp worked for 30+ years in the engineering department for the City of Mountain Brook, where he retired after a career of devoted service. He was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Corner, Alabama. He enjoyed cattle farming, woodworking, gardening, and building beautiful birdhouses. Mr. Shipp loved building and restoring old cars, attending many car and truck shows over the years. His special vehicle, which he rebuilt from the ground up, was a 1950 candy-apple-red Ford Truck. Mr. Shipp was a quiet, hardworking, loving father and grandfather. Mr. Shipp was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Edna Shipp; and brother, Dwight Shipp. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Shipp; daughters, Melissa Muncher (Tim), Meranda Scott (Duane); granddaughters, Amy Rice (Brian), Paige Givens (Chris), Hannah Sparks (Jayson), Lindsay Farris (Lee); grandson, Taylor Scott (Megan); great-grandchildren, Park and Peyton Givens, Tanner and Jacob Rice, Carter Sparks, Owen and Austin Farris, and Eli Scott; sisters, Eva McCoy, Ruth McCoy, and Helen White.
