Malinda Beasley Harris of Morris, Ala. passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the age of 74. She was a strong, brave, God-fearing woman, a loving wife, and a caring mother and "Nanny" who loved her family unconditionally. Raising and caring for children was the highlight of her life. She raised kids and grandkids, some of which didn't belong to her. It did not matter, you didn't have to be related for her to love and care for you. Her last wish was for her family to come back together. She was always honest and fair and had a smile and laugh that would light up any room. She had strength like no other, continuing to smile through her pain and burdens in hopes of making others smile, too. She was a minimalist who didn't need much more than just her family and friends. She loved watching Law & Order and playing Bingo and cards. She is deeply loved by her family and so greatly missed.

Malinda was preceded in death by her parents, William "Shorty" and Vivian "Big Momma" Beasley; her husband of 47 years, Gaylon Harris; her son, Carl Harris; and her great-grandsons, Blain and Dalton Sisco. She is survived by her daughters, Gayla Wood, Ginger Jones and Charlene McAlpine; grandchildren, Daniel Curry, Carol Weekly, Carl Wood Jr., Shey Sisco, Bryan McAlpine, Zachary Wood and Terri Speakman; and 12 great-grandchildren: Breanna Sisco, Jordon Weekly, Brenden Sisco, Autumn Weekly, Riley McAlpine, Kate Curry, Serah Weekly, Lily Curry, Emma McAlpine, Maci McAlpine, Leo Hudgins and Dakota Harper.

A visitation for Mrs. Harris will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Cecil Calvert will be officiating. Immediately following the funeral ceremony, everyone will travel of their own accord to Morris Cemetery, where we will all reconvene graveside for a brief committal service prior to interment.
