Margaret Marie Self of Warrior, Ala. passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 89. Marie (as her friends knew her) was a devout Christian who loved the Lord, a loving wife to her husband of 70 years, and a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to the lights of her life. She enjoyed reading, playing games with her family, and camping at the river.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dovie Finley; and her beloved husband, Braxton "Brack" Self.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Sheila, Carol and Sharon; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved wholeheartedly.

Marie was the glue that held her family together, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. We will cherish the wonderful memories we have of her and take comfort in knowing that God had a special place waiting for her, right next to Brack, who welcomed her home with open arms.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Bradford Sanctuary of Praise in Pinson on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The public visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the funeral service, we will all reconvene graveside in Bethel Cemetery in Warrior for a brief committal service, just before interment.
