Margaret Salyers Thomas Shaver, age 91, of Hayden, AL passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She loved many things and many people. Above all she loved God. She was stubborn as could be, and loved stronger than many. She enjoyed cooking for those she loved, reading oodles of romance and mystery books, watching Wheel of Fortune and home renovation shows, and taking advantage of her green thumb by planting anything she could get her hands on. One of my favorite qualities about her is that she would always be willing to help others with anything they needed.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, mother, siblings, first husband Erskine Thomas, second husband C.J. Shaver and daughter Suzanna Sitton.

She survived by her son Tommy Thomas (Renee); son-in-law, James Sitton; grandchildren: Riley Standfield, Zoe Sitton, Zachary King, Victoria Thomas, Little Tommy Thomas, and Shaver Tesseneer Family.

A visitation for Margaret will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Bro. Danny Tesseneer will be officiating. Interment to follow at Graves Gap Cemetery in Hayden.
