Obituary

Margaret Thomas Turner went home to Jesus on February 9, 2021, at age 89. Margaret was born to parents, George Herman and Ruby Inez Thomas on August 30, 1931, in Warrior, Alabama. At the age of 9, she became a born again Christian and an active member of Stewart's Chapel Methodist Church. At the age of 16, Margaret married Homer "Red" Turner. They were married until Red's passing in 2002. After Red became a Christian, together they joined Zola Baptist Church, where Homer served as a deacon, and Margaret taught Sunday school. She was the vacation Bible school principal for many years there. Margaret was a woman of great faith, and an amazing cook. Her yard was a beautiful showpiece of plants and flowers. She could always be counted on to help anyone in every way possible. Her generosity was legendary, as was her always upbeat outlook on life. Her love of all things great and small defined her as a person and as a Christian. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Margaret also loved her church. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with her family and those who surrounded her. Margaret joins in Heaven her husband, Homer "Red" Turner; infant son, Tommy Eugene Turner; father, George Herman Thomas; mother, Ruby Inez Thomas; brothers, Hershel Thomas and Bruce Thomas; and sister, Martha Turner. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Marie Young (Earl) and Tammy Kirsch (Joseph); sisters, Nora Loggins (Jerry) and Reba Barber (Wayne); brother, Floyd Thomas (Sharon); grandchildren, Kristy Dutton (John Paul) and Jennifer Cole (Bobby Cherry); and great-grandchildren, Nicole and Alaina Waldrop.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 KJV
