Margaret Inez Woods, age 93, of Trafford, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2021.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Inez was always on the go, active, and resilient.  Her special style of sass, honesty, and loving attitude could engage anyone and light up a room.  She treasured fond memories of her long career at Downey Automotive, working alongside owner Dick Downey.  Inez enjoyed crafting all her life. She did wonderful crochet work, hand made purses, afghans, and beautiful quilts. She loved to be out in nature and enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching the hummingbirds. Inez was a member of Elvester Baptist Church in Warrior, AL. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Franklin; mother, Artie Pate Franklin; sisters, Fannie May Vaughn and Ivery Duncan; half-sisters, Cora McChain, Lora McChain, and Dora Graham; brothers, Henry Franklin and Thomas Franklin, Jr.; ex-husband, Lonzo L. Woods; and boss from Downey Automotive, Dick Downey. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Sue Wash (William W.); grandchildren, Todd Majors (Marsha), Brian Odom (Cheryl), and Sherry Boehm (Steve); great-grandchildren, Brooke Hills, Kennedy Taylor, Caroline Majors, Jessica Robertson, Sara Odom, Nicholas Odom, Kody Reece, and Kristen Boehm, and their families; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation for Ms. Woods will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.
