Marjorie "Margie" Darlene Thornton, age 61, of Adamsville, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Margie was the best, kindest, most caring and loving person anyone would want to be around. She never met anyone who didn't immediately fall in love with her. She had the most beautiful blue eyes that sparkled, even if she was having a bad day.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. Thornton, Sr. and Mavinell B. Thornton, and siblings, Thomas L. Thornton, Jr., Denise Thornton, and George Thornton. She is survived by her wife, Paula Boyd; children, Shannona Jackson (James), Adam Thornton (Kristina), Felisha Spencer, and Anthony Boyd (Ali); grandchildren, Ruthie, Delton, Brookelynn, AJ, Arie, Victor, Jamison; brothers, James and Keith Thornton; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Prior to cremation, a viewing and visitation will be held for Margie at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Saturday, October 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

As a reminder: Large floral stands/sprays are traditionally ordered for burials and used to adorn the newly covered grave after interment at the cemetery. For Mrs. Marjorie, there will not be a grave to cover. We recommend that when placing your order, ask the florist for suggestions on some appropriate gift options for a cremation service, such as potted plants, dish gardens, bouquets, or other small arrangements that will not be difficult for the family to transport home with them after the funeral service.
