Marjorie "Margie"
Glover
Aug 1, 1936 — May 5, 2022
Warrior
Marjorie "Margie" Glover passed away on May 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie P. Jones, father, Homer L. Jones, brothers Kenneth Jones, Thomas Jones, Donald Jones and Oren Jones (Helen). She is survived by her children, Teresa McGaughy, Skip Glover (Allison), Dan Glover (Nancy) and Jackie Winchester (Tim Faulkner); her grandchildren, Kenneth McGaughy (Tara), David Glover, Stephen Glover (Summer), Micah Glover, Mason Glover, Jake Glover, Simon Glover, Georgia Glover, Chris Glover, Whitney Roberts, Cheyanne Winchester (Matt), Dallas Winchester, Dustin Winchester and Nick Winchester; and great grandchildren, Maddie, Wesley, Annalise, Esme', John Amos, Isaiah, Leviticus, Razelda Genesis; sister-in-law, Brenda Jones; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Margie was an avid Alabama fan and a big fan of any sport her grandchildren participated in. She loved filming high school and college baseball games where her grandsons participated following them anywhere they played. She was the first President of West Blount Park Board and was key in the beginning and development of the park. She and a small group of parents had a dream of having a park for their children to play instead of traveling to a nearby community and worked hard until the park became a reality. Margie was a long-time manager of various Krystal's and Jack's. Through her work at West Blount Park and at Krystal and Jack's her leadership had an effect on many people, young and old. She will be missed by her family and many others. Probably the best way to describe her is that she was always a fighter all her life and did not ever give up easily. Visitation at Messmer Funeral Home in Warrior for family on Tuesday May 10 th from 5 to 6 and for the public from 6 to 8. Funeral service will be at Stewart's Chapel United Methodist Church, Warrior, Alabama on Wednesday May 11 th with viewing from 12:30 to 1:30 and funeral service at 1:30. Flowers are welcome but donations in Margie's name to Stewart's Chapel Church (2444 Old Hayden Highway, Warrior, AL 35180), West Blount Park (P.O. Box 34 Hayden, AL 35079) or for Alzheimer's research or your favorite charity are also welcome.
