Martha Jane Mayfield left this life for her Heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the age of 83.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Loretta White; son, Bennie Mayfield (Carla); three grandchildren, Shalina Scholl, Drew Mayfield (Danielle) and Cara Moore (Cody); five great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Kiley and Kenady Scholl, and Cooper and Chloe Moore; one brother-in-law, Bobby Patton; as well as other extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. "Dock" and Sybil McPherson; sister, Faye Patton; and daughter, Teresa Pierce. Jane's unconditional love for her family made their lives special. Her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were very important to her, and she provided support for each and every one of them. She also loved working and planting flowers. She enjoyed spending time at church at New Bethel. She was a hard worker and was always willing to help someone. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Visitation will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, April 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The following day, Wednesday, April 22, the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home's chapel. Pastor Gary Creel and Pastor Jeremy Rolo will be officiating. Immediately following the funeral service, everyone will travel of their own accord to New Bethel Cemetery, where we will all reconvene graveside for a brief committal service prior to interment.
