Mary Nell Armstrong Bains, age 83, of Warrior, Alabama went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after a brief illness. Mary was born on August 25, 1941, to Edward and Elizabeth Armstrong. She was an excellent cook, known community-wide for her turkey and dressing, homemade biscuits, and fried apple pies.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Armstrong; brother, Benjamin Armstrong; and grandson, Michael Hayes. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tracy Bains; daughter, Sherry Hayes (Charles); grandson, Matthew Hayes; siblings, William Armstrong (Judith), Shelvia Motte, Susie Swann, and Helen Oden; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge Complete Health's Dr. Kelli Grinder and Dr. Doug Alford, Amedisys Home Healthcare, Agape Care Group, and also Shipp's Pharmacy for the roles that each of them played in assisting with Mary's home care. You are so greatly appreciated.

A visitation for Mary will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday evening, September 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel the following day, Monday, September 30, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Ricetown Cemetery in Blount Springs.

In lieu of flowers, Mary requested that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
