Mary Frances Daniel, age 91, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, after a long illness. She truly knew it was better to give than to receive, and was generous with both her time and her service to others.

Mary was born on March 18, 1933, to Henry and Mamie McAnally in Warrior, Alabama. She went on to marry William Howard Daniel on February 1, 1951.

Mary worked for the H.L. Green Company for many years before the birth of her first daughter, in 1958. A second daughter, Marilyn, was born in 1969. Afterward, Mary graduated from beauty school and worked as a hairdresser. After her husband retired, they jointly operated several car wash businesses.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Howard; daughter, Marilyn; her parents, Henry and Mamie, and her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Denise, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A brief half-hour visitation will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Following the funeral service, everyone will reconvene at Warrior Cemetery for the committal service and interment.
