Obituary

Mary Hawthorne went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at age 87. She is survived by, two sons, Larry Burgett (Donna) and William Burgett; six daughters Brenda Taylor (Mike), Linda Harvell (Joe), Teresa Burnham, Peggy Seaver, Deborah Stafford (Kenny Black), and Wanda Norris; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Burgett and Ricky Burgett and one daughter, Mary Gilland. She was a loving mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. She was kind, always willing to accept others into her life and never had a bad word to say of others. Most of all, she loved the Lord with all her heart. She retired from factory work after many years of service to provide for her eleven children showing them what it is to be a hard worker. Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.
