Mary A. Kilgore, 95 of Warrior was escorted to her heavenly home Friday, Feb 4, 2022. She was the eldest daughter of the late Fred and Pearlie May. Besides her parents and 7 brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband S.T Kilgore, her son in law James Larry Capps and her Grandson, Todd Capps. She is survived by daughter Brenda Capps of Pell City, Al. Daughter Tina (Ervin) Capps of Southside, Al. Son Larry (Becky) Kilgore of Warrior, Al. Grandchildren are Chris (Dedra) Capps of Fyffe, Al. Teri (Jerry) Porter of Rainbow City, Al. Wesley (Meredith) Kilgore of Warrior, Al. Lee (Meredith) Kilgore of Warrior, Al. Angie Capps of Pell City, Al. Anthony (Barbara) Capps of Pell city, Al. She also had 15 precious great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister in law Sue May of Gardendale, Al. In her earlier days Mrs. Kilgore owned a gift and Christian book store in warrior al. She was a florist, crafter, cook who made the best candy around. She was known to everyone simply as GIGI. She loved her family and she loved her savior, Jesus Christ. Her whole life was spent serving the lord and her family. She loved to sing and wrote many songs. She was also active in her church for years teaching Sunday school and YPE. Her goal in life was to lead others to the lord. She also worked at Charlene's florist in warrior with her best friend Charlene Jones. One of her proudest milestones was being a five generational mother. Mrs. Kilgore spent the last seven years of her life in Fyffe, Al. Living with her grandchildren Chris and Dedra Capps. A special thank you to Dedra who was her primary care physician at Family first medicine of Rainsville, Al. For their excellent care. She was also given loving care for her last years by her Children and by the staff of encompass hospice of Al. Mary Kilgore has fought the good fight, she has finished the race and she has kept the faith. Hence forth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness. She was loved so much and will be forever missed by all but has accomplished her final goal. There will be a graveside service to celebrate her life at Stewart's chapel cemetery Tuesday, Feb. 8th, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
