Mary Helen Walters, age 86, of Warrior, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. Mary was a precious, sweet, caring, generous and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her proudest accomplishments were her faith, her family, and her years of service in Warrior High School's lunchroom. She loved playing softball, cooking and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Most of all she loved serving others. The most lovable quality of Mary's was her loving and giving heart. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" Campbell Sr.; parents, Willie E. and Ruth Swann Cook; and siblings, Bobby Cook, Martha Tavel, and Michael Tyler. She is survived by her children, William A. "Billy" Campbell Jr., Rickey (Teresa) Campbell, Sheila (Mike) Cope, and Sherri (Tim) Hill; grandchildren, Joshua Campbell, Calvin (Sarah) Cope, Rusty (Morgan) Hill, Braden Campbell and Candy (Ronnie) Frazier; great-grandchildren, Brayden Campbell, Chandler Campbell, Will Campbell, Ava Campbell, Magnolia Hill, Wyatt Hill, Brittanie (Brian) Phillips, Madison Phillips, and Brooklyn Frazier; one great-great-grandchild, Natalie Phillips; sister, Shirley Marsh; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Kesia Willis, Mary's personal sitter. A visitation for Mrs. Walters will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, February 4, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at North Highland Baptist Church on Saturday, February 5, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Steve Abney to officiate. Interment to follow at Warrior Cemetery.
