Michael Tolbert was born on March 26, 1968, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Michael enjoyed driving and working on cars. He had a successful transmission shop in Tarrant City for nearly 30 years, and was best known for his strong work ethic and dedication to honing his skills. Michael had made many friends over the years that would often come by his shop to visit.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother; Cary Tolbert; father, Jackie Tolbert; stepfather, Charles Akers; and grandparents, L.H. & Audy Brannon, and Ellie B. & Clara Roberts. He leaves behind his loving mother, Pat Akers; brother, Shaun Tolbert; children, Lexi and Mason; step daughter, Kaysie; mother of his children, Jennifer Tolbert; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

As Michael's family we appreciate all the prayers and support given by Pro Health Hospice and Grandview medical staff.

There will be a visitation for Michael held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Warrior Cemetery. We ask that everyone travels of their own accord, and we will all reconvene at the graveside for a brief committal service just before interment.
