Mildred Elaine Motes, age 76, of Trafford, AL passed away on Wednesday, December 7. Elaine lived her entire life in Trafford. She was the most loving, compassionate, selfless, unassuming, generous, and loyal person you would ever meet in this life. Her countenance was always one of joy and peace. Her name means "light"- and she would truly light up the room. If there was ever a true Proverbs 31 woman, it was Elaine Motes. Her life was a life of integrity, faithfulness, and ultimately prayerful. She was the truest intercessor/prayer warrior any of us have ever known. If you needed a miracle, you could call Elaine. She would go out of her way to put someone else before herself and her desires. She was a founding member and founding Elder of Solid Rock Church, and served in almost every role of our church. Her life lives on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her kids were her whole life. She will be greatly missed. Her family is her legacy.

Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Milton Palmer; her mother, Edna Mae Palmer; her father-in-law, Louie Motes; and her mother-in-law, Grace Motes. She is survived by her husband, Durwood Motes; daughter, Sandy Ragland (Larry), her son, Lee Motes (Tracy); grandchildren, Elizabeth Pickle (Alex), Rachel Ragland (Bailey), Savannah Motes and Madison Motes; and her great-grandchild, Harper Pickle.

The Celebration Service for Elaine Motes will be Saturday, December 10, at Solid Rock Church in Pinson.                                                            Solid Rock Church Address: 5050 Pinson Valley Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35215.

The viewing will be from 12 noon to 2 pm. Her Celebration Service will begin at 2 pm. After the service, she will be laid to rest in Trafford Memorial Gardens (next to Trafford 1st Baptist). There will be no processional to the cemetery, but everyone is welcome to reconvene there to join us for the Committal Service.
