Pamela Jean Newton, age 79, of Warrior, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord, December 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Lucille Hull McKinney; daughter, Gena Roxanne Newton; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and 10 brothers and sisters. Jean is survived by her husband, Eugene Oliver Newton, children, Robin (Jeff) Mize, Sandra (Ricky) Tanguy, Rhonda (Bobby) Mitchell, Rodney (Sonja) Newton, Ricky (Inga) Newton, Jarod Newton, Jason (Jennifer) Newton, Cara Gray, Tara (Patrick) Wood, Jill (Tony) Malcom, Kevin Newton; grandkids, Daniel Mize, Christina Horn, Rachel Mize, Aimee Justice, Izaak Tanguy, Kelsey Mitchell, Meagan Newton, Brooke Benz, Harley Champion, Kailey Newton, Bubba Newton, Morgan Perkins, Mackenzie Stanley, Madison Newton, Audie Newton, Britney Newton, Jase Newton, Noah Newton, Hannah Craig, Micah McCombs, Jonah McCombs, Sarah McCombs, Tabitha Box, and Ivaleigh "Coco" Malcolm; great-grandchildren, Daustin Horn, Chloe Champion, David Justice, Canon Craig; godchild, Joy Purifoy, and three brothers and sisters.

Jean was funny, loved to laugh, and always made people feel welcome, and she didn't meet a stranger. She knew everyone in Warrior, and they knew her. She loved her family fiercely, and she would get sideways with anyone who mistreated her kids or grandkids. Jean was loved by everyone and will be missed greatly by her community, friends, and family.

Jean's family will receive friends Wednesday, December 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel, with Brother Jeff Cato officiating.
