Obituary

On April 29, 2020, our lives were forever changed when our father's wife of over sixty-nine years, and our mother, Patsy Ruth Nickels (Moore), crossed the veil into eternity. Born in Warrior, AL, she followed her future husband to Yuma, AZ, where they were married on October 15, 1950. They settled in California, where they raised four children. She worked for thirty years for Rohr Industries in Chula Vista, CA. She loved her children more than herself, gave of her time and talents unselfishly to her family, church, and loving circle of friends. She also was involved with hospice, helping provide baskets to those in need, for nearly thirty years. She sacrificed greatly for the happiness of others over her own fulfillment and happiness. Not time, not space, not even death will separate us from her. As we grieve for our loss, we also reflect on the happy state our mother exists. She is with her parents and those that she loves that have passed on before. She is in a great state of rest, free of all pain and worry that exists in this mortal world. We know our family will see  her again. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Moore and Ruby (Bradford) Moore; and her older brothers, James, Mickey, and Patrick Moore. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Charles Nickels; children, Patricia Ann Zappone, Vera Alma Turner, Virginia Louise Perkins, and Wayne Blake Nickels (Linda); 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia McKinney; as well as a loving circle of nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held for Mrs.Nickels.
