Paula Pennington Jones, age 62, of Fultondale, was surrounded by her loving family and friends as she entered her heavenly home on January 26, 2024.

Paula was born in 1961 to James and Reba Pennington of Gardendale. She was a graduate of Gardendale High School class of 1979. Following high school, she married Wayne Jones of Kimberly. She enjoyed a rewarding career from Infinity Insurance in Birmingham.

She adored her family, especially her children and grandchildren who lovingly knew her as "Big Mama." She was always up for a road trip, especially to the beach or anywhere that provided an opportunity to spend time with her family.

She was a devoted Christian and was an active, faithful member of Northpoint Community Church in Kimberly. Paula had a genuine love for people and was the most gracious host for countless bridal and baby showers, as well as birthday, anniversary and graduation parties. For Paula, there was never a bad reason to plan a party or get her nails done.

Paula was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, James Pennington; and her brother-in-law, Neal Hollis. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne Jones; daughter, Amy (Greg) Lawson; son, Heath (Ashley) Jones; granddaughters, Madi Langston, Emmie and Layla Jones; grandson, Garret Lawson; mother, Reba Pennington; sister, Pam Hollis; brother, Jimmy (Janice) Pennington; and a host of nieces, nephews,aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and church family who will all cherish her wonderful memories.

A visitation will be held at Northpoint Community Church on Tuesday, January 30, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the Celebration of LIfe beginning at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Stewart's Chapel Cemetery in Warrior.
