Raymon "Edsel" Melvin age 84, of Pinson, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2021. Edsel was the youngest son of Ruby and Milford Melvin, born December 13, 1936. He retired from National Can Corporation and was a life long member of The Church of God, where he loved serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Edsel is preceded in death by both parents, two older brothers, Curtis and Mennen Melvin, and his beloved wife, Dorothy (Cahela) Melvin. He is survived by his only daughter, Sandy Foster (Russell); two grandsons, Zack Foster (Courtney) Jacob Foster (Ashlie); four great-grandchildren, Ashton, Camden, Stella and Phoenix; and one very dear friend, Doris Parker. Edsel loved spending time with his family and was so proud of them. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hope Hospice nurses Brenda and Vicki, and to the caregivers Angela Royal and Ryan Thomas, who have been such a blessing during this difficult time.

A visitation for Mr. Melvin will be held Thursday, April 22, 11:00am-12:00pm in the chapel. Funeral services will follow immediately after visitation. Interment will be at Massy Line Church of God Cemetery, Pinson, AL.
