Obituary

Ricky Paul Parish, 72, of Alabama, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. He was born on November 21, 1952, in Houston, Texas.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan Parish, and his devoted daughters: Teri Galik (Anthony), Tami Crowe (Mark), Jennifer Washburn (Chad), and Kathryn Parish. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Daniel Galik, Joseph Galik (Jazmin), Stormie Smith (Adam), Jakob Box, Rivers Cook, Johnathan Box, Jessie Box, and Joshua Box, grandfather to three step grandchildren Trent Washburn, Trevor Washburn, and Trace Washburn and great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren. Nathen, Noah, Kallie, and Woodrow.  He also leaves behind his brother Leon John Parish Jr., as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon John Parish Sr. and Neva Nell Yale, and his brother Jerry Parish.

Ricky grew up in Houston and moved to Alabama in 1987. In 1995, he began his career with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, where he served honorably as a deputy sheriff for nearly 24 years until his retirement in 2018. After retiring, Ricky enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his wife and family, creating cherished memories.

Ricky will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to the community, and his warm, adventurous spirit.
