Ricky Lynn Tanksley of Dora, Ala. passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the age of 62.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Ray and Paulette Tyler Tanksley; brother, James Ray Tanksley; and mother-in-law, Imogene Holcomb Dye.

He is survived by his wife, April Dye Tanksley; daughter, Leslie Raelynn Tanksley; brother, John "Chris" Tanksley; uncle, Robert Tyler; nephews, Christopher, Scott and Andy Dye; nieces, Amber and Crystal Dye; cousins, Bobby Tyler, Cathy Thomas, Loretta Mosley, Ronnie Waddell, Reva Hutchens, Alan Waddell, Wesley Tyler and Hulean Tyler; father-in-law, Eugene Dye; and brothers-in-law, Michael and Adam Dye.

Visitation will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for both family and friends. The funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home's chapel. Immediately following the funeral service, everyone will travel of their own accord to Elvester Cemetery, where we will all reconvene graveside for a brief committal service prior to interment.
