Roger Gene Rodda, age 85 of Birmingham, went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe H. Rodda, Sr and Allie Limbaugh Rodda, sister Frances Bryant, brothers Joe H Rodda, JR and Claude Rodda, and his son, Larry "Bull" Rodda, granddaughter Alesha Jackson and great granddaughter Kristan Cox. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Rodda, sister Sarah Lang, son, Bruce (Johanna) Rodda, daughters, Debra (Robert) Regular, Gretchen (Mike) Kelley, Angela (Donald) Leggett, grandchildren Jason (Kim) Cox, Breanna (James) Goodman, Trevin Rodda, Matthew Statham, Kane Leggett, Brody Kelley, John Kelley and Madison Kelley, great grandchildren, Lauren Cox, Chase Jackson, Jay Cox, Faith Campbell, Kyre Goodman, Sincere Goodman, Danica Statham and great-great grandchild Landon Cox as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Fultondale First Baptist Church. An avid baseball fan, he played baseball in the BABF, and loved the Chicago Cubs. He also loved the Auburn Tigers. He enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family and friends-The Over the Hill Gang from Gate City. Special thanks to Dr. Doug Alford and Hope Hospice, nurses-Brenda, Vickie and Shayna.  A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
