Roy Don
Bevis
Aug 11, 1956 — Feb 25, 2026
Warrior
Roy Don "Donny" Bevis, age 69, passed away on February 25, 2026. Donny was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Bevis, and his brothers, John Barry and Samuel Bevis.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lee Bevis; his daughter, Alana Bevis; his father, Rev. Roy Bevis (Linda); and his sister, Connie Palacios. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss their Uncle Donny—also lovingly known as "Papa"—and will never forget the countless nicknames he gave each of them.
Donny proudly served his country as a Marine, and following his honorable discharge, dedicated many years to meaningful work as a representative for the UAW until his retirement. He was the hardest worker anyone knew—always with a project in hand, always ready to help someone else, and never meeting a stranger. Though he was a businessman, he was a friend first. A true caretaker at heart, Donny touched countless lives through his generosity, service, and unwavering kindness.
He cherished his family above all and was often the joyful host of gatherings, entertaining everyone with songs he made up on the spot. His acts of service were truly the hands and feet of Jesus to those around him, and he will be fondly remembered for the love he gave and the lives he blessed.
Donny's legacy lives on in every person he helped, every laugh he shared, and every heart he touched.
There will be a visitation for Donny on Saturday Feb. 28, 2026 at Messmer Goodwin from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Graveside service to follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
